1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file placed on your device when you visit a website. It is used to make the site work, to measure its traffic, or, with your consent, to personalize advertising to you.

2. Cookies and US visitors

Sofaine (sofaine.com) currently sells to customers in the United States only. If you are visiting from the United States, you will not see a cookie consent banner: our consent tool is configured to display only to visitors in the EU/EEA and UK, where opt-in consent is legally required. This does not mean no cookies are used, it means US law does not require a consent banner for the categories described below. Instead, US residents can opt out of the sharing of data for personalized advertising at any time on our Your Privacy Choices page. 3. Cookie categories we use

3.1 Strictly necessary cookies

Set by the Shopify platform to make the store work: cart, checkout, security, session management, and language/currency selection. These do not require consent and cannot be turned off, as the store cannot function without them. Typical duration: from the end of the session up to 12 months, depending on the individual cookie.

3.2 Functional cookies

Remember your preferences, such as selected language or currency, so you do not have to set them again on your next visit.

3.3 Analytics and performance cookies

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) (page views, sessions, approximate location, device used). Data is aggregated; IP addresses are not stored by GA4. Typical duration: up to 14 months.

3.4 Advertising and conversion-tracking cookies

Google Ads (including remarketing), to measure which of our ads lead to purchases and to show you our products on Google's services and partner sites after you have visited the store. TrackBee, an order-level conversion-tracking tool, to attribute completed orders back to the ad that drove them and improve the accuracy of our ad reporting. Duration varies by cookie and is set by the respective provider.

3.5 Consent-management cookies (EU/EEA & UK visitors)

Pandectes, our cookie consent solution, sets its own cookie to remember and record the choice of visitors in the EU/EEA and UK, so they are not asked again on every visit. For those visitors, the banner offers an equally prominent Accept and Decline choice, and no analytics or advertising cookies are set until a choice is made (opt-in). Where our tools recognize an opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control (GPC), we honor it.

4. How to change or withdraw your consent

If you are visiting from the EU/EEA or UK, you can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings link in the store's footer, as easily as you gave it. If you are visiting from the United States, use the Your Privacy Choices page to opt out of the sharing of your data for personalized advertising.
